At Crestview Children’s Centre, we offer licensed childcare programs for children aged 3 months to 12 years old.
Each program is designed to meet children where they are, supporting their growth, curiosity, and confidence through play-based, hands-on learning experiences.
Our educators follow an emergent curriculum, observing each child’s interests and designing meaningful activities that nurture social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Our infants thrive in a warm, nurturing environment where each day is filled with loving care and attention. Through sensory play, gentle movement, and one-on-one interactions with educators, infants develop essential motor skills, early communication, and emotional security. Educators introduce simple signs for basic needs such as “milk,” “more,” and “sleep,” supporting communication even before words develop. We carefully observe each child and create personalized daily routines for feeding, naps, and play, ensuring every infant feels safe, comfortable, and fully supported as they begin to explore the world.

Toddlers are full of curiosity and energy, and our educators provide a safe, engaging environment where they can explore and learn at their own pace. Through hands-on activities, songs, story time, outdoor play, and teacher-led walks, children develop coordination, language, problem-solving, and social skills. Our educators guide toddlers as they learn to share, take turns, express their feelings, and build confidence, while introducing early concepts like colors, numbers, and shapes in fun, interactive ways.

Preschoolers are eager to explore, create, and learn in a supportive environment. Each day, children engage in projects, storytelling, music and art, fine and gross motor activities, and early literacy and numeracy experiences in playful and meaningful ways. Our preschoolers also begin to explore the community through outings and visits from special guests. Educators encourage imaginative play, teamwork, and self-expression, ensuring every child feels inspired, supported, and excited to learn each day.

Our school-age program is designed to keep older children engaged, curious, and growing in every way. Children participate in a variety of activities that build critical thinking, creativity, and social skills. Collaborative projects encourage leadership and teamwork, while exciting field trips during full days and our summer program provide hands-on, real-world experiences. Educators guide and support each activity, fostering independence, confidence, and collaboration, while making learning fun, meaningful, and memorable.

On your child’s first day, please bring: a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, indoor shoes, a crib sheet and blanket, and a comfort item for nap time (such as a soother, stuffed animal, or pillow). Please also provide diapers, wipes, and weather-appropriate clothing and footwear (including rain boots).
For safety, we ask that children do not wear Crocs or flip-flops for outdoor play. Don’t forget to pack extra changes of clothes to be kept in your child’s backpack!

Starting at a new centre is a big change, and it’s normal for toddlers to need time to adjust. To make the transition smoother, we recommend a morning visit or two (from 10:00–11:00 a.m.) before your child’s official start date. This helps them get familiar with the classroom, educators, and routines.
During the first few days, families may choose shorter drop-off times to help children settle in comfortably. At Crestview, we follow predictable routines and communicate clearly about transitions (for example, letting children know when it’s almost time to clean up or go outside) so that every child feels safe, secure, and confident.

Our educators work closely with families to support the potty-training process. When your child is ready to begin, please bring underwear and extra clothing. Many children show interest in using the potty by observing peers, and we happily encourage and guide them while keeping you updated on their progress.

On your child’s first day, please pack a backpack with: a hat, sunscreen, indoor shoes, a water bottle, a crib sheet and blanket for rest time, and a small comfort item if needed. Include weather-appropriate clothing, outdoor footwear, and extra changes of clothes to keep in their cubby. Please avoid Crocs or flip-flops for outdoor play to ensure safety.

Starting preschool is an exciting milestone, and it’s natural for children to take time adjusting to new surroundings. We encourage families to schedule a short morning visit before their child’s first full day to help them get comfortable with their educators and classroom.
During the first few days, shorter drop-offs can make the transition easier. Our educators provide consistent routines and reassurance to help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.

Our before and after-school programs provide a safe, welcoming space for children to start and end their day. We proudly serve students from Rocky Lake Elementary School, Basinview Drive Community School, and Sunnyside Elementary School (Eaglewood and Sackville campuses).
In the mornings, children are dropped off at the centre before school, where they can enjoy relaxed activities until the school bus picks them up. After school, children return to the centre by bus to participate in games, crafts, and group activities before being picked up by their families.
A nutritious afternoon snack is provided daily to keep children energized and ready for play.
